A flat pool enclosure is the most advantageous solution for winterizing your pool. With a winter cover or a pool shutter, winterizing must be complete (also called passive winterizing): the filtration system must be shut down, the water circuit drained, etc. A pool enclosure, on the other hand, allows you to maintain the water temperature. The transition to autumn and winter is therefore effortless on your part. The water is protected from dead leaves and frost, and is no longer vulnerable to the cold. Indeed, under the enclosure, the natural greenhouse effect occurs. The water temperature increases by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. Therefore, there is no need to change your routine; this is active winterizing: the filters and pH level checks should continue (filtration should simply be reduced to 2 hours per day). The advantages also include the need to lower the water level, no permanent treatment or restart required, no winterizing floats, and the risk of seizing the filtration pump is eliminated since there will be no prolonged shutdown of the system.
