Description
DIASEN's VAPOSHIELD is a three-component, semi-thick epoxy vapor barrier coating based on special cement. It adheres perfectly to many surfaces such as concrete, tiles, mosaics, etc. VAPOSHIELD is the ideal solution for renovating swimming pools without the need for major construction work. It is resistant to back pressure, can be applied even at low temperatures (below 5°C), and once dry, can be easily coated with epoxy or polyurethane resins, tile adhesive, or paint. Do not coat VAPOSHIELD with acrylic products.
- PACKAGING: 10 kg plastic bucket. Each bucket contains the 3 components (A+B+C) pre-measured and ready to be mixed.
- COLOR: Sand – APPEARANCE: Semi-dense
- COVERAGE: 0.8 kg/m² for 1 mm. Allow for 2 coats, i.e., 1.6 kg/m² for 2 mm. (Adjust the thickness according to the substrate and intended use). For more information, refer to the product's technical data sheet.
- DESTINATION: All masonry against earth, Swimming pools, Basins, tiled floors.
- MIXING: Mix the 3 components (A+B+C), add water (Max 5%). Apply in one or two coats.
- APPLICATION EQUIPMENT : Trowel, plastering knife, roller, brush.
- DRYING : Approximately 24 hours after each coat (varies depending on ambient temperature and humidity).
- FINISHING: We advise you to recoat the VAPOSHIELD within a maximum of 48 hours.
- IMPORTANT: when immersed the product must be covered with a finishing resin.
PREPARATION AND IMPLEMENTATION:
- Before applying VAPOSHIELD, make sure to thoroughly clean the surface, checking carefully that there are no loose parts.
- Thoroughly mix the three components A, B, and C until you obtain a homogeneous, lump-free mixture. Add a maximum of 5% water; you can use a mechanical mixer for at least 3 minutes to do this.
Note: (The resulting mixture dries quickly, which is why, based on experience, we recommend mixing it in small batches in 2 or 3 stages).
- For application with a trowel/smoothing tool: do not add water.
- Apply two coats of VAPOSHIELD , respecting the drying times.
- After complete drying (approximately 48 hours), cover with the finish of your choice; for tiles and mosaics, Litokol starlike evo is perfectly suitable.
The product cannot be stored after mixing.
Other use: VAPOSHIELD can also be used as a vapor barrier primer, in which case the yield will be 0.6 kg/m².
STORAGE : This product must be stored in a cool, well-ventilated place, protected from frost, rain and sun.
Hygiene and safety: This product does not contain solvents. After mixing the components, the product may heat up. This is a normal reaction. Do not close the bucket after mixing, as the product undergoes an exothermic reaction.
During handling, use personal protective equipment and comply with what is indicated on the product's safety data sheet.
